Agency Agreement between the New Zealand Health Information Service (NZHIS) and District Health Boards (DHBs)
An Information Sharing Agency Agreement between the NZHIS and DHB recently came into effect.
The Agreement allows DHBs and some of their agents (DHBNZ and their Shared Support Agency) to source, directly from NZHIS, certain information for certain purposes.
NZHIS holds the information as part of its national health information collections. This new Agreement will facilitate DHBs to fulfil their statutory obligations under Sections 22 and 23 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000.
