Legal status changes to National Systems data reporting

Legal status changes to National Systems data reporting effective from 1 September 2004

New legislation passed in 2003 has been implemented on 1 September 2004. As a result of this, there have been changes to the legal status codes, and new validations need to be introduced around the acceptance of legal status codes in the NMDS and MHINC.

If you have and queries regarding these changes, please contact your NZHIS account manager by e-mail at DataManagementServices@nzhis.govt.nz. The title of the e-mail should be “Legal Status Changes”.

Changes:

Some legal status codes have been retired on 1 September 2004, and an error message will be generated if they are used where the legal status date is on or after 1 September 2004. The error will use the new message:
NMS3046E Legal Status code aa is retired from use.
Some new legal status codes have been introduced on 1 September 2004, and an error message will be generated if they are used where the legal status date is prior to 1 September 2004. The error will use the new message:
NMS3047E Legal Status code aa is not active for use.

Some legal status codes remain unchanged.
